Air-Fix is an app inspired by the current air condition of Delhi. Being a citizen of Delhi, the situation worsened right in front of my eyes. Delhi has now become the most polluted city in the world. The situation has reached a point where breathing in Delhi for one day is equivalent to smoking over 50 cigarettes. I realised that everyone is suffering as a result of this.
This app aims to make people aware of the conditions that they live in. It takes real-time air quality data based on the location of the user and informs them of the air conditions. Data includes:
1. Particulate Matter (PM) 2.5
2. Particulate Matter (PM) 10
3. Ozone (O3)
4. Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2)
5. Sulfur Dioxide (SO2)
6. Carbon Monoxide (CO)
7. Temperature
8. Dew
9. Pressure
10. Humidity
11. Wind
Depending on the PM 2.5 value, we tell the user about the air condition in their surroundings. We also encourage the user to take public transportation systems if the air quality is poor so that they do not worsen the situation by using personal vehicles. The ‘Find’ button leads the user to apple maps where they can search from the nearest public transportation system (bus, metro etc)
The ‘Effect’ button leads the user to a page which describes the implications of the air quality on the health.
